TEAM

Tabbie and Erin connected over Facebook trying to find teammates. This is Erin's first year competing and will be Tabbie's fourth year. Both are super excited to compete together and see what they can bring to the competition.

HORSE: Saturn

- 19 Year Old AQHA

- Saturn has a pretty cool story. Back in July 2023 she was scheduled to be put down, her previous owners being too overwhelmed with her and thinking she had lameness issues that couldn't be fixed. I (Tabbie) work at an Equine vet clinic and the vet that went to the appointment couldn't bear to put her down as she wasn't in too bad of shape and just needed a few minor things to fix her up. The doctor came back to the clinic that day found me during my shift and we made a plan for me to take her home. She is an off track quarter horse and was raised on the track but didn't get any starts before she went to a new home. For 12 years she lived alone in a small backyard in the city, now Saturn is happy as ever, loves being in a herd with 5 other horses and is such a smart mare. A diamond in the rough is the best way to put her.

RIDER: Tabbie Jo Jensen

- Tabbie is an Equine Veterinary Technician/anesthesiologist at South Valley Equine. In her free time, she does western and english riding competing in barrel racing and rodeo, eventing, showing jumping and always looking for the next discipline to try and spending time when not competing in the mountains for trail rides with the horses. Tabbie likes to take the "problem" horses or the ones that are given up on and turn them around and watch them excel in their second chances.

SKIER: Erin Stokes

- Erin and her husband own Read's Saddlery Leather and Canvas in Ogden, Utah. One of the oldest continuously working saddle shops in the United States since 1883. She resides in Northern Utah where her family has trained racehorses/chariot horses and currently trains breakaway, team roping, calf roping and steer wrestling horses. She is also a master at canvas work making wall tents, teepees and bedrolls. She grew up in Lander, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming. Erin was a golf professional for 18 years and was the first woman head PGA golf professional in the state of Utah, Wolf Creek Resort. She was the director of Mountain Hosts at Powder Mountain in Eden, Utah. This is her first year Skijoring and she is very excited to combine her passion for ski racing and equestrian sports.
